- P&G Beauty & Grooming ensures that each of our products is safe for both consumers and the environment for a lifetime of intended use. Our scientists carefully and thoroughly evaluate the safety of a product before it is made available to consumers.
- P&G Beauty & Grooming product safety standards are the same in every country where we market our products. We do not believe in changing our product safety standards according to market location, just as we do not expect consumers to adjust their safety expectations.
- P&G Beauty & Grooming not only meets, but often exceeds all legal requirements around the world.
- P&G Beauty & Grooming abides by all principles of our industry's Consumer Product Commitment Code.
Our Commitment to Cosmetic Ingredient Safety
- All ingredients are thoroughly evaluated for safety prior to marketing. In situations where there is reasonable scientific evidence that the potential use of an ingredient in a particular product could be unsafe for people or the environment, or where we believe there is significant scientific uncertainty about its safety, we do not proceed with that use.
- P&G reviews all acquired brands and businesses to ensure they meet our safety principles. Additionally, an inventory of ingredients and a system of product and ingredient specifications ensure compliance with any product safety decisions.
- P&G Beauty & Grooming globally follows the ingredient restrictions as listed in the European Cosmetic Directive (specifically Annex II) and the final opinions of the Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR). CIR Review Process »
- Ingredients known via relevant exposure routes to be human carcinogens, mutagens or reproductive toxicants (specifically CMR 1 & 2 as listed by the European Commission) are not used in any of our products globally. Additionally, the company does not use ingredients determined to be persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic.
