Pollution can contribute to the appearance of aging at the skin's surface.
FACT - Aging skin loses its ability to produce nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH) and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH) - which are the energy reservoirs for cells. This loss reduces the skin's ability to repair itself from damage caused by free radicals, which are often generated by environmental stressors, like UV exposure and pollution.
