Dye Precursors

Ingredients in oxidative hair colorants which are oxidized to form colored complexes inside the hair fiber. Chemically these are derivatives of aniline, called ortho- or para-diamines or aminophenols. The dye precursors are oxidized by hydrogen peroxide to active intermediates, which then react with another group of ingredients - dye couplers - to give wash resistant color complexes.
